Resting Heart Rate - What It Is and How to Calculate It

Resting heart rate is the number of beats a minute when a body is at rest. The best time to determine your resting heart rate is in the morning after a good night's sleep, and before you get out of bed (as defined by the American Heart Association). Heart rates are measured in beats per minute (bpm).
